Team Training

Coerver Team Training is a great opportunity for teams looking for an intense 5 day training program or 1 day per week training schedule.

Team Clinics usually run 10 - 15 hours in duration (5 days x 2 hours or 3 hours). A typical team clinic of 10 hours would have 6 hours of individual and small group training and 4 hours of topics chosen by the coach.

First 6 hours will concentrate on foot skills and moves, 1v1 play, attention to developing a dynamic first touch, technical work on striking the ball, combination play, small group attacking and defending and developing effective soccer habits.

Remaining 4 hours will be dedicated to 1 - 3 topics chosen by the coach.

Sessions follow a detailed written curriculum, a copy of which is given to the coach for follow-up purposes. Each session also includes a number of activities players can do on their own away from the team training environment.

Coerver will provide all the training equipment necessary. Teams will be responsible for the training field, field reservations, and or field rentals. There are additional costs if travel and or lodging are required.

The Coerver Coaching 2021 Region 55 EXTRA Team Camp is a soccer skills training course exclusively for members of the Region 55 EXTRA Program.

The focus of this 4 day Coerver experience is on individual skill development through basic to advanced moves with the goal of developing confidence and quickness on the ball.

Moves are introduced throughout the course then applied in drills and games to practice in a method that starts with no pressure and slowly adding the pressure of time and space restrictions.

By the end of the first session, players are performing moves under full defensive pressure to goal.

First touch is an ongoing theme in the Coerver Coaching Camp and multiple topics and moves of the day are geared towards each player's specific level of play.

During each camp session the EXTRA athletes will be taken through focused instruction based on each level of the Coerver Pyramid of Player Development.

Ball Mastery
Receiving + Passing
1v1 Attack + Defense
Group Play

Within the six levels of the pyramid, topics range from skills such as juggling, finishing, passing and individual defending to more advanced topics such as small group defending and combination play.

On the final day of camp, all athletes compete in the small sided EXTRA Coerver Tournament. This is a round-robin competition of small sided games.

The champions are recognized at our Camp Awards Ceremony at the end of the camp and all camp participants receive their personalized Coerver certificate.

The Coerver Coaching Method is an approach to player development that gives athletes the ability to incorporate skills into the competitive environment as quickly as possible while building confidence along the way.

The difficulty of the moves that are taught and the intensity of the competition increases at each level.
